Willow Tree Carpentry and Joinery was delighted to complete “The Pydew Kitchen,” a bespoke renovation in a charming Bryn Pydew cottage. This project combined a modern shaker-style kitchen with the cottage’s traditional character, featuring a custom banquette seating area and a handcrafted engineered oak dining table that perfectly fit the space. Working with fantastic clients and a skilled team of collaborators, we delivered a beautiful, functional, and harmonious kitchen design.

Scope of Work

The project encompassed a comprehensive renovation, from initial planning and design to final installation. Key tasks included:

Design and Planning

Collaborated closely with the clients to create a design that balanced modern functionality with the cottage’s rustic charm.

Engineered and handcrafted a custom oak dining table to complement the banquette seating area.

Demolition and Preparation

Stripped out the old kitchen, preparing the space for the new layout.

Worked with MW Evans Plastering to repair and skim walls and ceilings, ensuring a flawless surface for decorating.

First Fix: Utilities

Coordinated with Hendleys Heating Engineers for plumbing and heating adjustments.

Partnered with Santric Electrical to complete all necessary electrical work.

Kitchen Installation

Installed a modern shaker-style kitchen supplied by Howdens (Colwyn Bay), including base and wall units, worktops, and splashbacks.

Integrated the banquette seating area seamlessly into the layout.
Fitted and aligned doors, hinges, and custom end panels for a polished finish.

Second Fix and Finishing Touches

Completed second fix plumbing and electrical tasks to ensure a fully functional kitchen.

Applied attention to detail with precise scribing and sealing for a professional finish.
Installed and secured all appliances, including oven, hob, extractor, and sink.
Decorated the space, tying together the kitchen’s cohesive aesthetic.
